Trick r Treat (2007)

Handling Trick r Treat's special effects was Bill Terezakis, credited as special makeup effects designer, with Shauna Magrath credited as special makeup effects artist. However, the film's most effects heavy sequences - when a group of female werewolves lure and kill a group of deadbeats - was outsourced to Tatopoulos Studios.

The onscreen werewolf suits are seen only very briefly, and bare a slight similarity to the William werewolf that Tatopoulos designed for Underworld: Evolution a year previously. An animatronic wolf head was constructed, as well as a fully animatronic 'half wolf' puppet (that can be seen in one of these behind the scenes shots) to be shot from below for the sequence of it taking its human skin off.

Sam is revealed to be a pumpkin-like demon to go with the jack-o-lantern motif. When it came to deciding on what sort of skull shape should be used, a foetus skull was chosen due to the character essentially being a child, with the oversized cranium being uncanny yet similar to a pumpkin's shape. Sam's true face would be realized as a prosthetic facial makeup, with pumpkin innards for 'blood'.
